REAL BRIDES September

Sophie wearing Essense of Australia on her wedding day 9th September 2017

(Style number D2174)

THE DRESS

After carrying out some research online, Sophie very quickly saw Essense of Australia’s dresses and she knew instantly that they would be the perfect collection for her. Therefore, she wanted to find the shop with the biggest collection of dresses so she had the widest range to choose from! Luckily she found Bride to Be of Reading. As one of Essense’s top retailers, she was safe in the knowledge that she’d definitely find her dream Essense dress here!

It didn’t take long for Sophie to find her perfect gown. With our experienced Bridal Consultant Emma helping her Sophie soon had a good idea of exactly what she wanted. As soon as Sophie put on the Essense D2174 stunning lace gown, all of her bridesmaids burst into tears, completely overwhelmed at how beautiful it looked on her!

The Essense D2174 has a halter neckline and completely beautiful back of intricate illusion lace. There’s small fabric-coloured buttons down from the back onto the skirt, hiding the zip. The gown has an AMAZING longer train which makes it a real show-stopper with its intricate detail. Sophie decided to have the satin beneath the ivory lace in the colour ‘Muscato’ to compliment her colouring and at Emmas suggestion, cleverly added a crystal belt to enhance her waist.

We have a fantastic selection of romantic veils and Sophies final touch was a stunning cathedral length veil with Swarovski crystals that capture the light perfectly.

THE THEME

Sophie absolutely loves pastels and in particular, dusky lilac. So she was always going to incorporate this colour palette into their wedding theme.

The colour was worn by all four bridesmaids and was also present in all of the beautiful flowers. The arrangements and bouquets included dusky lilac and antique blush roses, ivory stocks, pink heathers, gypsophila, ivy, ferns and a mix of eucalyptus and silver foliage, the perfect late summer wedding flowers!

There were lovely little lilac and silver macarons as wedding favours for all the guests and the wedding cake also had dusky lilac tiers.

THE VENUE

Sophie and her husband chose their local church to get married in, just ten minutes from their home in Hertfordshire. It’s also seen generations of Sophie’s family wed, including her Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother! So there was no better place to continue such a heart-warming family tradition.

Church - St Mary’s Church, Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

The celebrations were then continued at their reception venue - The Priory Barns, Little Wymondley, Hertfordshire.

The stunning old barn housed all their beautifully-set tables and personal touches. And the surrounding gardens allowed them to have some stunning photos when the sun allowed.
